  • October 23, 2013

Royal Perth Yacht Club and the Hyatt Regency Perth present the 52nd Cape Naturaliste and Return Race, to be started on Friday the 25th of October 2013. This exciting event marks the start of the summer offshore racing season for 2013/2014.

Royal Perth has a long-standing reputation for producing champions and staging major international events. Famous members who have gone on to international status include John Bertrand, Peter Gilmour, Iain Murray, Colin Beashel and lone circumnavigator Jon Sanders and who knows one of the rising stars in sailing might be on board one of the competing vessels this year.

The competitors will start at Freemantle passing the Day Buoy, Western South Passage Transit Beacon, Bunker Bay Turning Mark,  Bunbury Outer Channel Marker #3, Western South Passage Transit Beacon before crossing the finish line at South Mole. We will be tracking the participating vessels through out the race.

Every boat will have one of our YB trackers onboard which will relay several items of information including gps position, speed and direction through the Iridium satellite network to a live map. This information will be updated every fifteen minutes so their friends, family, supporters and even arm chair admirals from around the globe can cheer on their progress with ease.
