ARC Europe

  • May 09, 2015

Participants in World Crusing Club's ARC Europe will cruise in company from the Caribbean or USA to Marina de Lagos in southern Portugal. More than just a trans-ocean delivery, ARC Europe is a convivial way to start a european adventure or to end a caribbean season.

At the start port there are social activities to help the crews get aquainted, but the fun really starts in Bermuda, with arrivals parties and the first of the awards ceremonies.  As well as recognising great sailing, boat speeds and good seamanship, the awards celebrate the diversity of the rally, the people and boats.  Bermuda is home to Gosling's Rum, so there is a fair chance of a 'Dark 'n Stormy' or two!

From Bermuda the fleet will cruise the Azores. Most boats speed across the Atlantic, rushing past these diverse, friendly and interesting islands.  Each is quite different, so visiting five in the cruise is a great opportunity, with the opportunity to experience the world-renowned Peter Cafe Sport in Horta, street bull running on Terceira, wines on Pico, hydrangeas and thermal springs on Sao Miguel and village life on Santa Maria.

The World Crusing Club's has a dedicated team in every port, helping to make the most of time ashore with parties and tours, advice and support along the way.
