  • January 27, 2017

The 11th annual KOH week will commence with Hammertown opening to the public on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 and will continue through Saturday, February 11th, 2017.

The actual King of The Hammers race will take place on Friday, February 10th, 2017. It is the largest off-road race event in North America in terms of both competitors and spectators. It combines desert racing and rock crawling, and has expanded from one race to a series of 5 races held throughout the week.  All races from 2016 are expected to return for 2017 including: The Smittybilt Every Man Challenge, Polaris KOH UTV Race, Klim King of The Motos, and Vision X Shootout.

The race had humble beginnings with only 12 teams racing for bragging rights and a case of beer. It has now evolved into more than 300 teams competing before more than 35,000 fans in person and nearly 500,000 watching online.

They have established a racing class known as the ULTRA4 class. The defining characteristic of this class is that all cars must be capable of 4-wheel drive. Beyond that, the class is unlimited. These cars come in all shapes and sizes and are capable of speeds over 100+ MPH and still contain gear ratios as low as 100 to 1 for technical rock crawling.
