Normandy Channel Race 2017

This challenging race has a course spanning 1,000 miles which crosses the English Channel, the Celtic Sea and the Irish Sea. The fleet will set off from and return to the city of Caen in Normandy.
It is a double-handed race which enables the Class 40 skippers to really show off their potential along the varied course, half of which entails a coastal course skirting France and the UK, the other half an offshore course in the English Channel and the Irish Sea.
It is known as a demanding course full of complex navigation zones that calls for a tactical game-playing from the skippers in what is always a very high race pace.
Due to its geographical positioning, the race is particularly geared towards French crews racing around the English Channel, as well as crews from Great Britain, Benelux, Germany and skippers from other stretches of water, the Atlantic in particular, lured by the adventure.
Each boat will be equipped with a Yb tracker which will record and send data throughout the competition. This data is transmitted through the Iridium satellite network to the YB HQ servers where is it visualised into our race tracker.
