Hong Kong to Hainan Race

Organized by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) in association with the Bureau of Culture, Broadcast & TV, Publication and Sports of the Sanya Municipal Government, the 11th Hong Kong to Hainan Race is a classic 390nm downwind passage to the southern Chinese island of Hainan.
The Hong Kong to Hainan Race is also a qualifyer for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. Teams finish at Sanya Serenity Marina, situated in the southern coast of Sanya city. The marina is an ideal destination for boats that intend to continue on to other sailing events around the Asia-Pacific region.
The current race record stands at 23h 31m 52s, set two years ago by Seng Huang Lee and his 100ft Super Maxi Scallywag.
The RHKYC is one of the oldest and largest sports clubs in Hong Kong with a rich and colorful history spanning 170 years. All throughout this time, the RHKYC has organised community and competitive sailing and rowing events, with a focus on making them accessible to members and non-members alike.
