RedBull Defiance 2019

RedBull Defiance is a 2-day Multisport race that combines off-road running, kayaking and intense mountain bike endurance in Wanaka New Zealand. This year marks the 5th edition of the race and the second year in a row that YB Tracking has been involved with the event. Cited as the most challenging and scenically stunning multisport event in New Zealand (and when you see the location it’s hard to disagree!), RedBull Defiance is an incredibly popular and eagerly awaited event every year.
Teams consist of either 2 or 4 participants and can be mixed, male or female. With a cap at 85 teams, every year has been full of eager teams ready to smash out the course. Each team needs to make it through 6 stages, cover a total of 154km, deal with 4080m of elevation gain, perform a ‘special’ skill on each day and survive the intense Central Otago heat in high summer in New Zealand. With a $24,000 cash prize up for grabs in the Elite Category and $10,000 worth of prizes in the Sport Category, the incentive is there to finish at the top of the table.
