151 Miglia 2019
- May 15, 2019
The 151 Miglia is a renowned regatta held yearly that sets off from Livorno, Italy. It is a regatta that has captured the hearts of all who compete in it for the focus that it places on not only the race itself but to all of the participants both on and off the sea. The 151 Miglia team pride themselves on the quality of attention and care that they provide to all sailing and support crews who take part in the event every year.
It is set to take place over May 30th - 1st of June and will cover 151 miles (151 Miglia!) around the Tuscan Archipelago where it briefly touches upon Giraglia, Corsica before finishing in the port of Punta Ala.

In 2018, represented as 151 Miglia - Trofeo Cetliar, the organisation joined the Charta Smeralda which is a code of ethics promoting the ongoing care of our oceans through plastic waste management. This was simply an agreement of principles, however, they decided this wasn't enough and in 2019 they have decided that actions speak louder than words.
To limit their impact on the fragile state of the oceans and the incredibly compromised ecosystems around the world, they have organised #SailBeyondPlastic which is a commitment to avoiding as much use of plastic as possible, especially disposable plastics. To help them with this pledge, all events held during the regatta will be 100% plastic free including all fittings, cutlery, plates and glasses. In addition, all bags gifted to participants will include a bag for the collection of plastic waste produced during the race with the aim of discouraging the disposal of plastic while at sea. All bags full of plastic returned to the port after the race will receive a gift in thanks for their consideration of our environment.
For the 8th consecutive year, YB Tracking has been asked to provide the race viewer and tracking for the regatta, and every year we're honoured when they ask! Follow the competitors throughout the duration of the 151 Miglia HERE.
A regatta beautifully summed up by Race President Roberto Lacorte:
"A race by owners, for owners. A moment to deeply breathe the passion and enthusiasm for the sea, an opportunity to meet and exchange between different people linked by a common style. I wanted a much-awaited regatta that gets you excited. A regatta with a contagious scent that you can't help but need to feel"
Best of luck to all participants! We're with you through every tack and gybe!
